Who we are

Sunset Housing manages furnished apartments in Santa Monica and Southern California. “We” and “us” on this page means Sunset Housing, which runs sunsethousing.com.

What we collect

  • What you send us. When you use a form on this site (a question, a review, or a contact message) we receive what you type: usually your name, email address, the apartment and dates you mention, and your message.
  • Booking details. Reservations and payments are handled by Hospitable, our booking platform, and its payment provider. We receive the details needed to manage your stay, such as your name, contact details, dates and number of guests. We never see or store your full card number.
  • How the site is used. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit. It uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate location based on your IP address.

How we use it

  • To answer your questions and manage your booking and stay
  • To check reviews against real bookings before we publish them
  • To see which pages are useful so we can improve the site

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Who else handles it

A few services help run this site, and they process information on our behalf: Netlify (hosts the site and receives form messages), Hospitable (bookings and guest messaging), Google Analytics (visit statistics) and OpenStreetMap (the maps). Each has its own privacy policy.

Reviews

If you send us a review and tick the box allowing us to publish it, we show your first name, last initial, the month you stayed and your review text. We never publish your email address.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and booking records for as long as we need them to look after your stay and meet our tax and legal obligations, and then delete them.

Your choices

  • You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on.
  • If you live in California, you have the right to know, correct and delete the personal information we hold about you, and the right not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
